Howard Pomper - Attorney / Founder

As founder of the firm, Howard Pomper brings fifty years of knowledge and leadership to the practice of law in a wide variety of areas. His experience includes such areas as Personal Injury, Worker’s Compensation, Divorce, Bankruptcy, and Immigration.

Mr. Pomper earned his degree in Law at the University of Chicago. Prior to serving in the United States Army for three years, he worked as an attorney in the Claims Department of Zurich Insurance. While in the Army, he practiced law in the area of Claims. He then represented the Department of Defense Corps of Engineers, in Claims matters, for six years. Once back in civilian life, Mr. Pomper began his own practice.

Joseph Giacalone - Attorney

Mr. Giacalone has been practicing law for 20 years, representing individuals and businesses in state and federal court. He has handled all aspects of Civil Litigation matters from early investigations of facts through trial.

Areas of experience include Divorce, Personal Injury, and Business matters.

Mr. Giacalone attended DePaul University College of Law and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

He lives near Chicago with his trusted and loved dog, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, Allie and a cat, Moe.

Caroline Watson - Attorney

Ms. Caroline Watson heads up the Worker’s Compensation unit at Howard Pomper & Associates. As well, she ably represents clients in matters of Personal Injury, Criminal Law, Civil Rights, and Employment Discrimination.

Ms. Watson has been licensed to practice law in Illinois for over fifteen years.

Ari Merzel - Prelitigation Manager

As Prelitigation Manager at Howard Pomper & Associates, Ari Merzel has been responsible for developing Personal Injury and Property Loss cases -- from their beginning stages to the settlement phase -- for over a decade.

Mr. Merzel has substantial background in Administration. He earned his M.S. in Counseling from Long Island University.
